Join us for this in-person non sibi project with Center for Wildlife - a private, non-profit, wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education organization.
Roll up your sleeves and help maintain animal enclosures and sanctuary grounds. This maintenance supports the wildlife center’s inhabitants so that they continue to live healthy lives in comfortable, top-notch environments. The day will start with refreshments, introduction to Center for Wildlife, and a review of the following adult and family friendly projects. Volunteers will be assigned to a project below and should plan to be outside and dress for the weather.
Home Makeover for Wild Animal Enclosures: Adult volunteers only. Tasks include painting, cleaning, changing out sand and wood chips, and bringing in moss and stones for select non-releasable hawks, owls, falcons, and porcupine enclosures. There will be a brief wrap up presentation following the project, and access to live streams and videos of ambassadors using their new enclosures!
Food and Medicine Gardening: Family friendly! Tasks include pulling weeds and planting new food (lettuce and kale) and medicine (echinacea and citronella) in garden beds. There will be a brief wrap up presentation after the project and free play in the nature center.
